Wouldn't that be a bit low for the tweets, or did you aim them up?

I thought it would be to low also, so I am getting a second set of sail panels and making them fit in there.

Tweeter is producing a high frequency, if you put it to high up that's all you are going to hear. I angled them upward in this panel I made in the factory location. Have you ever seen custom car systems with kickpanels by your feet and the tweeter is also mounted below the mid and that's almost at the floor.

What we are doing by this set up is trying to create a balanced soundstage without getting into costly custom installation.

If the tweeter's are too high that's all you are gonna hear and after a couple of weeks or so you might become quite sick of it. Putting them low will balance better with the mid so it's a more accurate blended sound.

Putting them where Alex suggested is one of the easier ways to get good imaging. Another popular method is a mid in the kicks and a tweet in the a-pillar with a relatively high crossover point (6khz+).

I flush mounted Vifa Neo Tweets in the doors directly above where it says "stereo" (right by the mid). They look factory and sound very good. However, it took me 4 tries to find the right tweet with a good off-axis response to sound good mounted like this in that location. Tweets that can swivel to aim them towards your ears would also work well here.

By all means, avoid putting tweets in the B-pillars.

when putting tweeters in the a pillar...does there have to be some sort of depth for the underside of the tweeter? I know its not a sub or a speaker but I was thinking that the tweeter would be touching the sail panel if mounted right there.

Ok, I have no problems with taking off the door panels again. I'm pretty sure I remember all the locations of the screws isn't there a walk-through on that somewhere in this site? Think I've seen it before.
I'm going to check out some online stores and look for some 1 inchers that can be angled. I'll post ones I'm interested in and if you have some feedback/advice on them that'd be great!
Thanks you guys!

On a sidenote. I wanted to amp my door speakers... should that be done before I get the tweets installed??

I would just do everything at the same time. If your going to amp the doors make sure to buy or make some crossovers for the tweeters that way the door speaker and the tweeter will be amped. This will also imporve the sound.

Heres a shot of my installation, and if you want to wire straight to the head unit, it is much easier to go this way.

Cool installation. I was thinking about doing the same thing, since my head is basically at the B-pillar when I'm driving.

I would be concerned that all you would hear would be the left tweeter, since you're so close to it compared to the right. Is that not the case?

Also, those tweeters look big. What are they?

Viss,

Avoid that location at all costs. It would have nothing but negative effects, unless you consider overpowering treble with terrible soundstage and pathetic imaging a good thing. Placing a tweeter there offers nothing but "it looks cool" to some novice or someone not interesting in anything but loud.

Have you ever been in a car where its been installed there? I am not interested in nothing but loud AT ALL. It is an excellent location and I get excellent quality. I dont hear nothing but treble either. As to left side to right side ratio, it doesnt effect it at all. The sound quality in my car with my current setup is perfect. I want you to sit in my car and listen to the quality before you say that its pathetic or novice. It isnt for looks, if I were looking for all looks and no game, I would have done many things differently.

Here's the rest of my tweeter setup.

Knowing facts is one thing, but experience is another. I may not know as much as you, but I dont need to hear words like pathetic or novice on a setup that im very proud of and confident in.
