I will sell the amp, but as you can see i previous posts, there "might" be a problem with it, It was once a very good amp in its day, and still it, but was cutting out once in a while. I suppose it had to do with the fact that I was trying to power a sub with it, but who knows. I will sell it for $10.00 + s/h o.b.o., so let me know if you want it. It is a Sony XM-2540 if you want to do some research on it. It is rated at 25 watts by 4 channels, and has only 0.04% thd.

I have a new Alpine 5 channel amp that does that too, after about 1 1/2 hours or so. Audio guy says he has it on his car too.

Folding the rear seatback on trips keeps it from overheating, and I've been told that if it does not work, to open the rear window to take car of that. I was told it was not a problem and nothing to worry about (though annoying)

Well... I want to do the same thing. I have a BOSS 5 Channel AMP 80WX4 and 150X1. I have a Sony Xplode 10" in a box in the trunk and the Pioneer 6X8 plates in the doors. The amp over heats after about 1 1/2 hours of loud listening. I wanted to rig up some kind of Fan that would blow in or exaust though the 8" hole in the back deck. Is there anyway to do this? or should I just keep the seat folded down?
