Can anyone tell me how to get the IMRC cable released w/o removing the TB and bracket? Or do you have to go through all that just to get this cable released? I've been at it for over an hour and I can't get it off. I had the whole intake off and I still couldn't budge it.

I'm in the middle of replacing the cabin air filter and I just went back out and looked at mine. I don't think I could even get to it without removing the TB. Taking the TB, MAF, etc., off doesn't take all that much time - certainly less than the hour you've been trying to remove the cable. Once you have the TB off you can clean it inside and out with Berryman's plus do the MAF tuneup, too.

I have to pull mine all off this weekend to evaluate how I'm going to do the secondary opening LED indicator light. It's fun to tinker.

That's what I was afraid of. The only reason I didn't take the TB off is I don't have a gasket for it. Looks like I have to wait for Bill Jenkins to get back from vacation. I think he comes back Monday? I have a DH UIM and optimized 60mm TB to put on, and I need the usual bracket, cable, gaskets, etc. so I might as well wait until I do that.

I think those TB gaskets can be reused a few times as long as it doesn't tear when you remove the TB. I had mine apart the other day while replacing the IMRC box and I just put the old one back on. I was careful taking it off, it didn't appear to be damaged and so I just reused the old one when it was time to reassemble everything. No local dealer in the St. Louis area had one in stock anyway.

I'd put a new one on about 11 months ago so if yours has been on there for a few years you might have problems with it tearing when you pull it off.

Yeah, I'm kind of afraid to do that w/ 92,000 miles on it. My luck it would tear. The TB was all gunked up on the butterfly plates (as it should be w/ 92k and no prior cleaning) and I cleaned it the best I could for now.

When I changed the IMRC on my car I could not find a way to remove and reattach the cable end at the manifold without removing the throttle body. The throttle body is easy to remove though. I have had the throtte body off twice and still have the original gasket. The last time it was off (to change the IMRC) it had about 30,000 miles on it.

Oh, well that's not bad. I never knew they carried them. I guess I'll have to pick one up so I can get this done.
