Cannot open the trunk in cold weather.
I have keyless entry, and for security reasons I have disengaged the manual cable release.
When it is cold I cannot open the truck. This has been a problem for a while now. When I get back in the garage or it warms up, no problem.
Are there any known problems in this area?
Thanks

I used to spray silicone on the gaskets to keep the water off of them so they wouldn't freeze to the jams.

I just installed the spring this weekend. Mine did not come with the screw. I had a helluva time drilling through that metal. Had to use a masonry drill bit then secure the screw with a nut on the inside - took off the rear reflector panel to access it. Wasn't that difficult in the end, but it took a while - and chewed up a few screws. But hey, it works great!

That's too bad. Mine came with one of those drill bit ends on the screw. Hope it works!

This works, and so does a light coat of Vasoline. Just put a thin film of it on the rubber seals of the trunk and doors. They won't be so difficult to open when icy, and it'll provide a better seal.
