Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums Modifications Audio Pioneer 3100 HeadUnit, what speakers?

I have a pioneer 45X4 headunit, still running stock speakers, they are getting worn down. I am open to suggestions, I wanna change all 4 speakers. No Amp or subs, just wanna have the best bass from the stock locations, so what kinda speakers will give me that with this stereo?

Ihave the same head unit...I like the Pioneer ts-6865 3 ways they are pretty good but I think I will be gettin an amp for mine but i have those in the rear and that headunit and it is a major improvement but u will need to replace the fronts as well cuz the bass on those gets very muddy plus u will blow the stock ones out rather quickly

Ave, go to this post, http://contour.org/forums/Forum5/HTML/000102.html, and read Wes' (wjang) response. His suggestion is that 6x9s is the most cost-effective solution for obtaining bass to your (or anyone else's) system.
