I have my old single 2" exhaust from my SE Sport laying around, and I was thinking of putting it on my girlfriend's '99 Zetec. Just wondering if it will fit/hang properly. I'm not really looking to gain anything (HP wise), and she don't want the car louder or I'd get it "modified". She has almost 70k on her exhaust, and my stock exhaust has about 12k on it. It's almost like new. Just thought I might as well make some use of it. Anyone try this before? It has the same two-bolt pattern. I don't think it would be a problem.

It'll need a extra length of pipe,, but it's the same size on both cars,, so nothing is really different. Unless her's is real worn out,, though I don't see why it would be unless you live in a horribly salty area.

OK, so then it's really not worth it right now. I was just looking to get it out of my basement. Her's is starting to get pretty rusty (we get a lot salt put down on our roads here in the Pocono's). Mine's still mint, but if I can't bolt it on right in her garage then I guess it really isn't too practical to do.

C'mon man! You can give your GF a mint system for the price of installing a extra length of pipe! Go for it. I'd say less than $100 bucks parts & labor & she's hooked up with a whole new system & you're the hero. GO FOR IT!!!

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I would have the extra length of pipe welded on at a local shop, but while I'm there I would want to replace the resonator w/ a Magnaflow one but she don't want it loud. If I knew what a Zetec w/ a Magnaflow res. sounded like I might be able to make a better decision.

I think it would be illegal not to have a catalytic converter.
