SP Motorsports sells the 57-2534 kit and states it fits the non-SVT 2.5L Duratecs on Contours.

http://spmotorsports.com/ATCcontour_intakes_kne.html

Checking the K&N website, K&N states the kit will fit Cougars and lists nothing more. Has anyone installed this kit and have it work flawlessly? I know K&N has to pay fees to state a product will fit a certain application and was concluding this maybe why they didn't list it available to the smaller Contique market. Thanks in advance.

Looks almost identical to the other open element units available... probably not worth the extra $.

It will work, but its not the best option. The filter is too small for one. If you do a search you will find that it has been thoroughly discussed/debated in the past.

i tried doing some searching, but i don't know if it's me or the forums' search engine, but the most basic searches come up with zero results... even with no limitations on the search's boundary (searching whole category, all dates, etc).

Think about it like this. If it worked...even reasonably well...you'd see more people running it. But the bottom line is...no one here is. And that's after a lot of people here have spent $$$ and lotsa dyno time to get their mods right.

Care to share what car your thinking about putting it on? SE? SVT?

WHat other mods to you have...think you'll do?

Somewhere on here are some killer formulas on how much cfi the TB/UIM/LIM flow and what size filter will best support those flow requirements. That wouldn't be a bad place to start...

I plan to put an intake kit on my 98 Mystique. Currently there are no other mods on the car and there probably won't be too many others besides possibly a chip and some work done to the existing exhaust (new mufler, possibly remove resonator).

What kit have most people here had success with?

geez guys damn i think the setup kicks ass i have it myslef hooked up on a svt throttle. it fits way better than any other intake tube on the market plus you get a heat sheild that actually fits the car well and the filter just about hits the fender when installed.
