Has anyone ever had major engine problems after blowing a water pump??? I blew head gaskets and overheated the back bank of cylinders and dumped my compression. And, if any one knows what should the average be for compression in these engines?

don't quote me... but I don't even know what you own..

I assume a V6, since you had WP probs..

98/98.5 I think is 10:1
99/2000 is 10.1:1??? (to compensate for the slightly less displacement..)
The specific years the changeover happened MAY be off, but I would be more worried about the specific numbers I gave..

If you have a v6 Duratec/NON SVT I don't know what it is supposed to run..

Sorry I can't be more help.. there are TONS of people on here, and they will chime in, I am sure..

comprestion should be any were from 120 to 160 PSI if you have two cylinders with low comression right next to each other then you might have a blown head gasket.

My front bank was reading 190psi and the back was 170 psi on each end and #2 in the middle was 125psi. All that damage happened in the course of 60 seconds... go figure.

i dont think you blew a head gasket but maby a little cylinder wall damage i would go ahead and drive it and see if it burns any oil or water
