First I was wondering what is the easiest way to get behind my glovebox in order to disable the built in amp with the Premium sound.
Second I was wondering if the "Infinity Kappa 572.1cf 6x8 5x7 Speakers" will fit in both the front and back doors with no problems.
Third, what is the easiest way to run the rca cable from my headunit to the trunk in order to hook up an amp. What are some routes that you guys used.
Thanks a lot,
Chris

1) Drop the glovebox door down and it's in plain view. In fact, I think this is the only way of getting to it. Empty your glovebox and push in on the sides. The bump stops will clear the sides and it will fall all the way down. 2) Yes, 6x8/5x7s all fit perfectly in the Contour. 3) I would imagine under the carpet and/or door sills. I'm planning to tackle this project soon as well. ------------------ Louis Wang Sugar Land, TX 1998 Black E0 #3826 http://web.wtez.net/tw57472

I ran the power along the drivers side sill. For the RCA cables, I pulled the rear seats and center console out and ran them under the carpet down the center of the car.

door sills will work fine for speaker and power cable. just be sure to run speaker/RCA wires down one side of the car and power cables down the other. try to criss-cross these two types of signals as little as possible in your car (or home , for that matter).

I would suggest replacing the door speakers with a 5.25" or 6.5" speaker. They make a plate for the 5.25" and the 6.5" will fit with very minimal work. I ran the RCA down the passenger side and 0 gauge down the driver side.

Where did you see the plate adapter? I have a set of Polk 6.5" on the way, and the only adapter plates I've found are from Sound Conceptions, but at a pricey $22/pr. ------------------ Louis Wang Sugar Land, TX 1998 Black E0 #3826 http://web.wtez.net/tw57472

I had a set that fits the 5.25" they cost $15, but I returned them becuase I have 6.5" (shop gave me the wrong ones). To get the 6.5's to fit I took a hammer and "massaged" the area around the stock hole. The just drilled the holes for the screws.
