You wanted another opinion. The factory SVT stuff is excellent. It holds up well, it doesn't create problems that make it hard to drive, and is cost effective. Going with the highher performance aftermarket stuff will also bring comprimises, some of which are easier to live with than others.

Ditto!

A lightweight flywheel with a new stock SVT clutch setup is the only system I would run on a naturally aspirated 3L or less.

I have pictures of my stock clutch with two months of driving a 3L Turbo on it and it looked pretty damn good.
It held the power, even when I went to the drag strip with it!!
That was 265 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels by the way and in that two months it never slipped on me. That clutch was about 3 years old with about 30K miles on it.

What do you other people say to that!!

I do not think it would have held the power with lots of abusive drag runs, but if I never took it to the strip then I probably wouldn't have needed to change it.

In my opinion the Spec stage1 is the only clutch I would have needed though I went all out with a stage 3.
I just took my tranny apart early this week because of my current project and the 6 puck stage3 clutch looks great. The flywheel is stock and it is NOT chewed up. In fact it looks about the same as it did before I had it surfaced when I pulled the old clutch out.

Um yeah. Still faster than yours at this point.

Oh and I have broke into the 2.2x's twice now. When I first started drag racing 1.5 years ago I was turning terrible 60's with some 2.5x's on average later on. Last Christmas I was in the 2.3-2.4's on the stock clutch and this summer I was 2.2's-2.3's. Some of those turbo 13.9x slips were with the stock clutch mind you!
I don't take it as easy as you think, I just don't normally slam the gears that hard when I'm street driving. I usually save it for the track. On my old 98 contour SVT I sheared the clutch disc at 20K miles. 1-2 shift then bam it was a gonner.
Drag racing is progressive you know...and I'm progressively getting better. You wait till I have some traction and then we'll see!
