got a problem . i have about 2000 miles on my new clutch. it is a clutch master stage 2. now its hard to get in gear, and when i let off the clutch in first gear the whole car shimmies really bad. I never had these problems before with the stock clutch. my wife drives the car everyday 2 miles to and from work. i have bled the clutch 3 times according to the haynes manual for my car. the clutch really never gets driven really hard and my wife drives it pretty well. does anyone have any clues as to what it could be.

Aftermarket clutches are built for high energy transference with little slippage. Stock clutches provide more slip with a loss of energy. If it is hard to get into gear on the first engagement of the day, the splines that the clutch disc ride on may be binding from accumulation, rust, mis-machining, etc. Shuddering on all engagements may be characteristic of the clutch material or problems with the flywheel.

When the clutch was installed the installer could've replaced your throw-out bearing with the one for the Zetec. If this is the case the clutch is not fully disengaging. You might be able to hear the throw-out bearing if you put your head next to the drivers side wheel. It'll sound almost like a knocking rod. If you know they installed the correct throw-out bearing, then it could possibly be internal. To troubleshoot, drain your tranny fluid, and replace. If that didn't help, sounds like you need to just live with it for now, unless you have +1100 bucks in your pocket for a rebuild (I'd suggest Terry Haines). well i didn't think that it posted sorry
one other thing though............. when i replaced the cv axles there was red fluid like auto tranny fluid comming out. this was not done at the ford dealer but by a small mechanic shop. could they have put this fluid in instead of regular gear oil? could it be the slave cyl. ?

The MTX-75 calls for ATF, so this is normal.

Redundant 11:46pm multiple posts now deleted, don't believe it's user caused (although usually its only duplicates and triplicates, not quints), possibly a bug.
