OK i've searched and found nothing. I'm wanting to run new wires to my front speakers to amp them and if i decided to get something better later i have the lines run. I was planning on running the new speaker wire in the accordian tube between the door and the car body, but once i unscrewed it I found out that it's just a plug. So i couldn't run the wires threw there. How do you all who amp speakers in the door have your lines run? and have it look clean? and as always pics are appreciated

i should have pics up soon. u gotta drill. 1 inch hole for each door. i run a 12 gauge and 16 gauge for each front door. if i had to do it again, i'd run all 16 gauge for non sub drivers. i might've gotten away w/ a 3/4" hole then. i wrapped the wiring w/ electrical tape in a clean manner and found the perfect grommets at home depot in the electrical section. they were a tad big so i cut a "slice" of it maybe 2-3 mm out and worked the grommet into place. i have to admit. i love how it came out. it looks so clean. i have to do the rear doors after winter. i'm putting in a vifa 7"midrange and 1" tweet. i want to add an 8"midbass and will switch the 12gauge wiring over to the midbass. otherwise, again, use 16 gauge. the knukonceptz 16 gauge is like have the 12 gauge, really flexible.

look in the front door jambs where the door switch is. go above it above 1 1/2 - 2 inches and slightly to the right (for the left door) and slightly to the left for the right door. then slit the bottom of the stock loom to work the new wire inside. getting the wiring on the inside of the car to the new hole isnt easy but totally worth it.

i'm so freakin' lazy i have 2 rolls of pics to develop of my install to date and showing what u need. i'll do it in the next few days

Personally, I wouldn't bother running new speaker wire if I were to add an amp. I would probably solder the amplifier's output wires to the correct speaker wires on the aftermarket wiring harness and plug it back into the OEM harness. No drilling or potential for pinched wires.
