ok heres the deal.
i installed a new air intake system (AEM short ram) cold air intake last night (12-18-03) and the car ran fine until tonight when i had to go do a few errands the check engine light came on. i cycled the key three times to try and clear the code that was set and the light is still lit dont know if it has to do with the cold air or somthing else. could a vacumm leak throw a light? thanx

Maby....I take it that you didnt have the codes read. I believe you can have this done free at autozone or other chain stores. Find out what the code is. Did you reset the PCM after putting a CAI on?

im going nto put them on a scanner on tuesday if the problem persists. why would i halfto reset the PCM? just a question.

!!!!This is absolutely necessary after performing a performance modification!!!!

The easiest way to reset the engine computer (PCM, or Powertrain Control Module) is to pull the #4 and #11 fuses from the power distribution box under the hood. It is located between the battery and the fenderwell. Leave the fuses out for 1-2 minutes to clear the KAM (Keep Alive Memory) and the computer will relearn all its settings. Or you can pull off the negitave batt. terminal, but takes longer to clear the memory.
