Well, first off... I never really thought that I would be posting in this area because I am not really into car audio. However, I was kinda forced into it...
One of my front speakers is broken so I need to replace the fronts... any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive replacement? I have a cd player in it that gives out 35W to each speaker... I listen to a lot of techno and electronic music if that makes a difference in speaker selection.
All ideas appreciated as I would like to buy some and put them in tonight.

Sounds like you want good low end bass since you have no subwoofer. The Pioneer 6x8 speakers fit perfectly, are low priced, and better than factory speakers.
I bought 4 Polk dx7's (hard to find even on th eInternet) for $102 per pair and they sound great, but have weak bass. I do not care though as I have a sub.

Well, I decided on the Pioneer 3-way 6x8s.... all I can say is... Awesome! they are such a HUGE improvement over the stock speakers... cost me $99 for the pair... I enjoy them so much that I am considering getting some aftermarkets for the back

haven't got these yet, but I've heard the Clarion Pro Audio line is pretty darn good SRC5752- 5X7" PLATE $87 http://www.sbhcorp.com/strclr.htm again, not bass thumpers... but you can get a sub pretty cheap to accomodate for that

I replaced my speakers with Cerwin Vega Stealth series. They were $90 a pair. 3 ways, sound great. Shop around on line, in stores they were running $120.

Rax, If you want another pair of Pioneer 6x8 3-ways (TS-6815), let me know. I'm upgrading my front speakers to a component set so I won't be needing these. They are about 1.5 years old, they work very well for rear fill. $45 obo, shipping incl. Check the audio classifieds for my more info. ------------------ Louis Wang Sugar Land, TX 1998 Black E0 #3826 http://web.wtez.net/tw57472
