Buy a new car...swapping from I4 to V6 would cost alot...figure the cost of the engine AND swapping tranny's, wiring, computer, coolant piping, exhaust, and a few other things....

I was decided a long time ago that it would be cheaper and easier to sell your Zetec Contour and buy one with a V6.

Lots more needs to be done than just swapping engines.
You could just spend the money on a turbo and other engine mods for the Zetec

Thats the idea...spend the money on a turbo and walk all over almost every contour on this site...

if you can do the work yourself, you can do a 3L hybrid for under 1K for a basic setup

Ah, well that changes everything
If your gonna spend the money, do whats already been said and go with a 3L.

I saw that car too. Very nice condition. I would search around the 3L section and read up on it. Some of the parts off the busted SVT engine can be brought over to a 3L.

I know, I know!! I got ripped off by a dealer and bought a *$#@!d up SVT. When I test drove it I didn't hear anything and it drove like a dream. Couple months later I hear this wierd noise and after about 3 diagnostic from a SVT dealer I found out that my SVT had a rod knock. Well the cost of the labor and the engine was almost 5500.00. Good thing that my warranty covered it. My advice, get a 3L and turbo charge it!! Good luck!
