I have a few questions. I bought the radio puller at Walmart for $3 and it worked great. I saw one plug that I think has 1 row of 7 or 8 connections, and another that has 2 rows of 4 connections, and the antenna.
The antenna wire is secured to the head unit - do I pry the metal from around the wire? Does the wire pull out from the radio, or is there a connector behind the glove box? It looked like the wire went into the head unit and did not seem like it would pull out at first look.
I think I found the factory amplifier - it is behind the glove box, towards the door, right above the light for the passenger feet, so it's hard to see with the light in your eyes. :-)
But, I only see one harness on the bottom of the amp - is the other harness on top of the amp, or do I need to remove the round black plastic retaining clip (the one that holds the "carpet" up under the dash)? Do I need to remove the factory amp to get at the other harness?
Someone on here said the harnesses were available at Walmart. I found the FDK-10 Scosche for the head unit, but not the FDK-8, which is to bypass the amplifier. Guess I'll give up and order both with my head unit. The FDK was strange - I would think there would be a 1x7 (or maybe 8?) wire connector and a 4x2 connector, but it had 3 harnesses. I think it had one 1x7 connector and two 4x2 connectors.
Thanks - I really need a little help before I order everything. Not sure if I'll run the power wires to the subwoofer amp myself, but I want to install the head unit and bypass harness myself. IT sounds like the doors can get banged up easily, so I'm not sure if the "pros" will do better, or if I'd do less damage. :-)
