I'm right at 87k, and it seems to be doing fine. Don't really know how it was driven untill I bought it at 52k, but I do my best not to slip it too much.
My last car was a 94 eclipse 1.8L; it was at about 85k when i bought it, i detected the worn clutch slippage soon after, and put another 15k on it before i replaced the clutch. That year of tiptoeing around that clutch taught me how to preserve a clutch.
I usually pull off in 2nd from anything other than a complete dead stop. Saves a starting slip, and another gear change. First gear is so short in the MTX-75 anyway...

I have 184,000 on my SVT with the original clutch. I'm not a particularly gentle driver.

That's for sure. I've done two on rear wheel drive vehicles but from what I've heard about this car I'd rather roll it off a cliff than do it myself or pay to have it done.

Mine gave out at about 98K I may have accelerated the process, though
PS -- this is what that part of the alphabet would look like without Q and R.

Even if you don't have the answer, you certainly have to admire the problem.

I put 120k miles on mine. I swapped it out when I had the trans rebuilt. She still held fine during normal driving, but was starting to slip a bit during quick shifts. I couldn't squak the tires anymore, and breaking the tires loose on a <3000 RPM launch wasn't possible anymore. She would've lasted longer I think too, decent clutch. I drive her pretty hard too. There's not a track around here, but I drive pretty fast and hard on my 30minute (one way) commute to work

I'm just curious as to what the various signs are of a dying clutch. I have 190,000kms (115,000 mi) on my original clutch and under harder starts (and when pulling a heavier trailer) i get sort of a banging sound starting out of first... only like 1-3 bangs before it fully engages, my guess is these bangs are slight slips?
I've been in two friends' cars when their clutches totally went on them.. once in an accord going uphill when the revs just went high and it started to smell like burning electronic equipment. The second time in an altima sort of the same except at full throttle up an on-ramp.
I don't really want it to get to the point that i lose my clutch completely, so if anyone has any useful comments more severe signs, I'd really appreciate them.
