  • Dirty MAF
  • Low fuel pressure
  • Vacuum leaks
  • Intake plenum leaks

What are intake plenums? Also after changing the fuel filter, I used some liquid injector cleaner. Could that have caused some crap from the tank to restrict the flow from the fuel filter?

A plenum is a passage intended for airflow.

The intake plenum is everything between the throttle body and the MAF. On Zetecs and my Crown Vic this includes a resonator to smooth airflow and dampen sound. The Duratec only has a small one consisting of the pleated rubber hose and the connections to the PCV system and IAC. Any unmetered air entering after the MAF will cause a lean condition.

Fuel system cleaner is usually not a problem. If fuel pressure is suspected put a fuel pressure gauge on it.
