Ok I just got around to installing my guages and I can't figure out were the pressure sender goes. I tried to search but its down and I remember hearing that the only place to install it for an accurate reading was in the block next to the stock one But I have not i dea were it is or what it looks like.

there is a plug (about the size of a quarter) next to the alternator, on the block. its a metric hexhead (i believe) you can hook up the sender unit there. (if its mechnical) thats the only way i know how to.

The best place to get a reading off the main gallery is a hex plug right by the stock sender.

Yes you will have to remove the A/C unit and install it with a 90 degree fitting.

yea its an electric guage and i really don't want to have to remove the a/c unit but I'll just tell my mechanic to install it while he installs my feul pumps and springs. thanks for the info guys.

Greg, there's a matching plug on the backside of the block, which may allow you to mount the sender without messing with the a/c compressor on the frontside.

I should've looked into that when I pulled Ryan's trans but I forgot all about it. But essentially, either one will work and give the most accurate (and useful) reading.

Tapping into the head is pointless IMHO.

Where does the street flight kit tap into out of curiosity? The oil line for the turbo.

Off the head, as you don't need super-dooper oil pressure for the turbo. Actually, most factory turbocharged cars pull oil from the head feed too.

Nonetheless, even if the head is were the oil is pulled from for the turbo. It's not were you should be measuring oil pressure.

Oil pressure is measured to ensure the mains are getting ebnough oil as they are the largest and most important bearing of the entire engine.

I agree...tapping off of the head will give erratic readings. I get 100 psi at start-up then it drops to about 75 psi, once it is warmed up it reads between 20 & 25 psi at idle. While driving its around ir reads around 50 psi. If my oil gets a little low I don't notice it on the gauge I plan to move mine to the lower position in the Spring...didn't even think about the back side of the block That may be easier then the front for sure.

I dunno where mine is located(it was on the car when I got it) but the way I notice if the oil is low is if I go into a turn(an on/off ramp) on the gas, and if the PSI drops then I know I have low oil. I have an Oil accumulator so the dip stick doesn't read true.

On the LH (oil filter) side of the block there are two holes tapped to 3/8-18 pipe threads. One is used for the oil pressure switch. The other is there because a cross drill is needed for the oil feeds. The extra hole is simply closed off with a pipe plug in it. So this one is available.

On the RH side of the block there is another cross drill. This has a 1/2-14 pipe plug in it. Only issue is that this is farther downstream, if you will, from the oil pump than the extra hole above.
