Hey, guys and gals. I have a 1998.5 E1 SVT. It just hit 30,000 miles last week. I've been thinking of selling it and was wondering what it's worth. I store it winters and never even drive it in the rain. It may have seen rain a dozen times in the 5 years that I've had it. The car is spotless and very, very well taken care of. So, what do you think? By the way, I live in south eastern Michigan.

Guy just bought about an identical car for 5k. Had 4000 more miles. Not a big difference. Just depends on if you find the right buyer. This time of year is a hard time to sell with the holidays.

$5000 for an SVT with 34,000 miles? Sounds like the seller needed some quick cash. Just checked and the blue book is $10,000.

Good luck. It's a 5 year old car and everyone thinks it's plain Contour with a body kit. And it's a manual on top of that.

Well, around here in Southeastern Michigan they're pretty popular. So, a lot of people know what they are.

blue Book is one thing, real world is another You won't get $10K on the street. Look up www.edmunds.com and check their "True Market Value" prices. 'Blue Book' is only for banks and insurance comapnies to determine a high retail price. But, nobody pays retail unless they're suckers.

I just saw comparable ones in my area and the owners were asking anywhere from $10K up to $16K. So, ya you're right. Blue book is one thing and real world is another.

That was an awesome deal. If I would have seen it I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

I really think the market location has alot to do with price...Some places are more saturated with SVT's, or any car for that matter, than others...But, as for the question, I think you can find someone somewhere to pay 10K, but you might not...You can get a 2000 for that price or even lower depending on the seller...I'd say probably around the 8K range...
