Hi all! looking to move in about a year. Thinking about Las Vegas or some where in Arizona. How are they as to cost of living,Taxes, etc. I'm friggin' tired of the tundra here in Minnesota! Any info would be cool. Thanx.

Property taxes are ridiculously cheap and the job market is great unless you are an IT guy.

Thanks Keyser. I am in the medical field so jobs are kind of all over for me. I am just looking for some place warm that won't cost a fortune to live. My wife wants California (in laws, oldest and youngest children are there) but the housing costs are insane! Plus, taxes are high and gonna get crazy very soon.

What's your field?
I've applied to a PA school in Glendale. Medical fields = jobs all over.

If you happen to be in nursing or something like that there is a huge demand. FYI people from California are moving here at an accelerated rate.

It's a salary calculator. Enter what you make where you live and enter where you want to live. It'll calculate your equivalent salary for the new location.

There are other helpful calculators there too.

Good luck,
DDV

Wow, it's actually cheaper to live in Phoenix than SLC......

Slap that on the "Why I should move the hell outta Salt Lake" list under reason #10,495

Working on #10,496..........how warm is it down there?!?

60-70 during the winter. 100-115 in the summer.

60-70 is so nice. It really makes a person a winter wuss, though.

That's a little more than "warm." I was there last June and it was 113...my AC blower would only work at 1 speed...low. It was hot, but I didn't die.
