Hey all, was wondering how many probs there would be if I got a 1995 2.5 to replace my blown 3.0 in my 97. I know the lower intake would be different and need to be replaced, I also know the wire harness would probally be different due to OBD I Vs OBD II is there anything else I am missing? obviously every junk yard say it will bolt right up, But I know I will need to do some work to get it to bolt right up. did I think of all the probs or are there more? and other major downsides to the 95 2.5? wasnt the 95 2.5 the one with the delayed oil pump so it knocks for like a sec or two then the oil finally lubricates?

95's suffered from chain slap as well. Doubt you'll find a nice 95. Why not another 3L? Go with what you know works and have it tuned. You'll need a diffent PCM as well.

Yay for oddball '95s. Mine makes a wee bit of racket at startup (oil pressure coming on and vacuum closing the secondaries) but it's cosmetic noise, as far as I've been able to tell. Been doing it for the two years I've owned it.
