My sunroof is making a grinding noise when I try and open it and it will not budge. I read the article on how to fix it in the FAQ section, but if anyone can give me a little more detailed plan of action it would be greatly appreciated. Also the cover that houses the dome lights and sunroof buttons has fallen off, where and how much is this part? Thanks so very much. 1998.5 Black CSVT

I can't help you with the sunroof fix but the map light/sunroof switch console is about $17 through Bill Jenkins at Signature Lincoln Mercury in Las Vegas. I replaced mine through him recently. Do the lighted moonroof switch mod while you're in there. The how-to is on the CEG website or just click here: Lighted Moonroof Switch

I recently changed my moonroof motor. I will recommend you to do so. The fix didn't work for me also.

Can you PM me with details on the price of the used motor. Also, does this motor have redesigned gears or something? It's not very practical to spend a lot of money on a unit that will do it again soon enough. At least no IMO.
