Do you guys think that this is really worth it. I will be pulling my motor so I might as well put one on since I have it out, but if you don't think I will need it, I will also have a fidanza and spec 2 clutch, let me know what you think

Still workin on her!!!!!!!

I bought one and noticed absolutely no difference.

I still kept my old one. I've also never had any issues with my rod bearings or oiling.
I ran the old one the whole time my 3L engine was in the car and a few months with the turbo. NO ISSUES from 1999 to summer of 03 when I changed it. The old one was starting to get a tiny groove from the lip seal but still wasn't leaking at all.

Is it better? I have to say that it does have the potential to be better because it can damp out more resonances than the stock one, but I don't think there is any proof.
I wouldn't buy it if there is nothing wrong with the old one or if you are only buying it because you are scared of the bearings going out.
I'm about 99% convinced the bearings go out because of oil starvation and not crank whip.

I felt a difference at high rpms. The engine feels smoother above 3500. I find myself staying in 4th gear sometimes when I should be in 5th because of the decreased vibrations. There could be other factors at play too. Maybe my engine mounts are worn, so I felt more vibrations with stock crank pulley. I don't know. But I did feel a difference. If you decide to get one, get if from Bill Jenkins at Signature Lincoln/Ford in Las Vegas. He sells them for about $50 if I remember correctly. Cheapest I have seen anywhere.

Ditto. I catch myself "cruising" in 4th at 60 to 65 mph (and other times I do it on purpose, waiting for a passing opportunity...) I never could do that with the stock pulley.

Any hp change (+ or -) is not enough to notice.

I think it's a good combo with the flywheel and clutch mods, esp.

But I'm no Warmonger, either. Just that the racing and engine building experts that I've read say that the flywheel/clutch is a good place to shave weight, but that the harmonic damper isn't. Some cases where adding weight/damping to the HD allows for increased hp. (I'm not saying the DMD will add power, though.)

I'll even add the other 1% to that statement!

The DMD is for NVH only. (which it quells fairly noticeably)

Also it should not gain or lose any power compared to the stock damper.

I put one on my car (ATX) and noticed nothing, but I think the ATXs have added mass that dampens vibrations more VS the MTX cars anyway. I have also read in one discussion about this topic that racing teams usually install something akin to a DMD to preserve their engines. If true this post & the one above speak volumes. The Jag X-types come with DMDs as well, I'm told.

They do it to get power. Reduction in parisitic loss to vibration, plus more stable cam profiles. And these guys are religious about weight.
