I am pulling my motor to fix my tranny and do some other goodies, I was wondering if anyone had a how to on pulling the motor, or if anyone can give me some tips on what to or what not to do when pulling the motor.

I see your answers reflect on how smart you are?
I know it sounds like a stupid question and it is not like I have never pulled a motor before just wanted to know if there were any precautions people would recommend like pulling the fenders and bumber or anything like that?

head over to fordcontour.org and check out their 3L swap, it tells you how to pull the engine at least, I'm not so sure about the tranny. But that should give you a start. Hope this helps and good luck.

i pulled mine from the top without removing any body panels

take off y-pipe
disconnect UIM
coil
vacuum hoses
coolant lines (drain the coolant)
disconnect wiring
disconnect bracket that holds the pass side axle to the engine
remove belt, disconnect ac and leave it off to the side
jack up engine, remove motor mount, disconnect PS pump, leave off to the side also
last but not least, unbolt engine from tranny and pull out

that might work with a automatic but if you have a stick then leave the engine and trans bolted together and pull it out at the same time
