Hello,

I just picked up some Infinity 575.2, and notice that ther is some kind of plastic ring around the tweeter. It looks like it is meant to protect the tweeter from damage incase it was pressed upon. However, it doesn't seem to me that having this is optimal for the sound, so I was wondering if you all thought that it may be better to cut (carefully ;-). This plastic appendages.

Thanks.

The are designed for protection and not to interfere with sound quality. I would leave them alone.

Are these the Kappas 5x7 (or 6x8) rated 100W RMS ???

Do you have 4 of them all around ??

How do they sound ???

I bought them.. I can't wait to install them....

Another question... I think they have a Xover... right ???

Is that good or bad ???

Actually, they are called phase shields, and they are there for sound purposes, not protection. You could try removing it, but it most likely would result in poorer response.
