Stealerships says it will cost me 250 dollars to get a 45k service inspection. Is that necassary. Up until now I have yet to take it in for any type of service inspection. Just the regular oil change every 3k and clean the K&N. I swapped out the wires and plugs at about 30k for autolite PP and ford racing 9mm wires so that is gtg. Can yall tell me what NEEDS to be done at 45k to keep her hummin?

your in Vegas??? Go to Signature Lincoln Mercury and talk to Bill Jenkins. Granted he may be the parts guy, but he might have hookups.

I dunno what needs to be done really, haven't got there yet and my owners manual is all the way outside.

Just your normal highway robbery. Check the recommended maintenance schedule. To pump up their profits, they always seem to recommend doing stuff that isn't in the manual and most of the stuff in the manual shouldn't cost that much.

Actually after my warranty expired, I really didn't end up going back to the dealer, just used a local mechanic and he was nice enough that he didn't mind me bringing my own parts and putting them in for me. Have yet to get burned by doing that as there's always the possibility that the parts could be bad.

At 45k all you should be doing is an oil change and some inspections. Go to a regular mechanic and pay $35. Stealerships...

My local stealership (Who I have reported to Ford's main customer service in the past for trying to rip me off) keeps calling me bugging me about bringing in my car for the 45K. They just don't get it even though I told them outright "You guys are criminals and will never see my car in there while I own it" yet they still call like I am gonna change my mind. $250 is a waste as most of the stuff is visual inspections you CAN do yourself or take to a regular mechanic like others suggested and get done much much cheaper.

The 45k service is called a fuel/induction service is the main service performed. they clean the intake with spray can cleaner around the t-body and upper intake. then they will put a fuel attitive in the tank. and then pressure clean the fuel injectors with a special maniflold and shop air that pushes cleaner through injectors(injector flush) plus they will inspect/replace the air and fuel filters, pcv, fluids, brakes, tires., etc...
it is a good service but rather expensive too.
