2000 Ford Contour, SE Automatic. It is not the timing belt, nor the fuel pump. We have checked fuel shut off button (I was rear ended on Nov 1). One thing the mechanic did say is that one of the cylinders (4 cyl)is "firing" below 100. Looking for some help here. I am going to have him call the mercury dealer today about the transponder. Could this have anything to do with a fuse?

It would probably help if you actually gave us the symptoms of what is wrong and any sequence of events that have been followed in trying to diagnose or repaor such faults.

From your post, it just appears that a jumble of "stuff" has been observed or tried.
