As some may know (from another thread) that I am having a new motor installed in my '99 Taurus 24V.

Is there anything that I can have done while the motor is out to help out performance a bit?

Lightened flywheels?
Lighter Underdrive pullies?


Anything????

ported and polished heads. im not sure if the msds headers will fit in the taurus engine bay, but if they do, you could always get those.

Don't think a lightened flywheel is going to help an auto transmission. Lightnened and underdriven PS and alternator pulleys that can be had in the GB Forum. Not a lightened crank pulley on a Duratec though! TCCA Forums could help you as well. A shift kit will help a lot if you're having anything done to the tranny.

sounds similar to the taurus se i had...for all of one week...99 silverfrost dual exh outlets cd tape climate control mnrf...loaded as hell...put just around 1000 miles on it and the o/d light starts flashing in traffic one day and i could smell the coolant burning...took it back the following saturday and got my money back....

was almost a very cool car though for a taurus


99 expedition eddie bauer, 5.4 v8, k&n drop-in, 3" magnaflow catback and gas mileage that makes the contour look like a hybrid
