Yup! So in other words, it will run on 87, just not as well.

actually, i do own one. and by running 87 you will most likely harm the motor

This is right from a dealer guys, and the guys at Vortech. "You must use 91 octane or higher on any car that is supercharger, turbocharged, or has performance set ups (such as the Acura Type S, the SVTs, etc, etc.) You may use 89 if all you are doing is highway driving, and they meant ALL HIGHWAY (aka long trips across states). My dad followed this and his 97 GTP was fine. I follow this for my SVT, and he's following for his 03 CL Type S. And no problems.

Trust me on this one. Use 91 or 93. You won't come ahead cheaping out on gas, because the mileage is greatly reduced when you use a lesser grade of gasoline. I know from experience, as I've owned quite a few high-po vehicles, and I've tried cheaping out on gas as well . It's not worth it.
