Found a sweet surround sound system that we may purchase, and I'm trying to find a good place to come do the installation. I'm not sure if there are places that install equipment that you don't purchase from their store. Since I'm not moving out of the new place anytime soon, I want a more permenant installation, all the wires hidden in the cieling and walls.

Unless it's going to be in a room that looks like it belongs in Cribs, why don't you do it yourself? Really isn't that difficult to run a couple speaker wires through the walls and stuff.

Dude, just hook me up with some tizzight Red Stripe, and we could knock the whole thing out in an afternoon while the ladies cook us some grub.
It's all just like Lego's. Oh, I have done this before. Shoot me the specs on what you are going to get.

Actually, Cribs is filming my place mid January....yeah right!
Chris/Kelly, you've seen my place. Center channel on the mantle, then the front speakers way up in the far corners of the nook on either side of the fireplace, then the rear up against that back wall, but I don't want to see any wires. Plus, I want to run wires outside for the porch.
I'm just not real keen on knocking any holes in my wall if a pro can do it for a reasonable price.

Cool. Your place will be on Cribs the week after mine . If Chris is offering, take him up on it. It's really not difficult running wires through the walls. I'll stay out of the wives cooking thing.

It's much easier than you are imagining, Dandridge. "pro" installs can run around $400-500 and they have a tentancy to get things wrong, or poke holes in things that are important (like the power outlets, freon pipes, and even the dookie pipe from the upstairs toilet)
I'm in town all next week for UNIX training and should have normal hours. We'll discuss more on Saturday morning.
