Yes, the rear reflector assembly unbolts from the lid quite easily.

The problem with America is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

2003 Subaru WRX some mods
Even if you don't have the answer, you certainly have to admire the problem.

a great solution for rattling license plates... even if your holes aren't stripped, you can try what i did years ago... get some black vinyl (decal vinyl) and simulate a license plate frame with it, covering the bolt holes. go get some industial strength adhesive velcro and just velcro it to the car. this worked great for me, a nice clean "no bolt" look and no rattles. no frame to rattle the plate and no contact with the car.

and somebody can walk by and steal my plate...thanks for the suggestion. if my car was for show alot liek yours is then i would consider this awesome idea, but the area where i go to school, not a good idea... i love your car dont get me wrong, but they are different purposes for them, mine is a DD and taken care of enough for what it needs to do, yours is kick ass and has had the hell modded out of it...

Tell you what I did until I get that piece replaced I went to the hardware store and bought 4 self tapping screws and with my drill attached the plate to the broken piece on the trunk lid. The crack is under the plate. Anyone know where I can buy that section? I tried ford no help I tried the local salvage yards no help there either.

Fix for stripped holes only:
Ford has a fix for this, just visit your Ford Parts Counter. What it basically is is a peice of plastic that spans the two holes and has a peice of double sided foam tape on the back. On the piece of plastic there are nubs that line up with the old, stripped holes and add a set of holes right on top... hope this helps and I explained it well enough. I have one and works just fine, no problems and its going on at least one year. Also, expect to pay around $10 for this.
