OP speedfreak117 New CEG\'er S Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 24 northlake il	Hi everyone. I'm Mike and have a 99 contour. My fuel pump went out on me again and was wondering if anyone could help me change it. I can get to the pump, but I cant seem to get the fuel line off. Has anyone around here done this before? Please someone help me. I don't want to pay to have it towed to the stealership and then get reamed on their labor when half the work is done already.

BStoneMega Hard-core CEG\'er B Joined: Sep 2002 Posts: 1,196 Elgin, IL	the fuel line comes out pretty easily. Push on the ring outside of the line. Push down on the fuel line while doing this. As the ring is being pushed down then pull up on the line and it will come off. 2004 Evolution VIII cams-exhaust-tune 315whp 12.7@109

I slide the collar up and that is loose, but it still will not release. I am sure it is something stupid and obvious thats why I was asking if someone wanted to give me a hand.

To relese the collar I slide it up (up being towards the pump and trunk) then slide the whole thing down (down being to the engine). Is that right? Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I have been fighing this for a couple of hours.

OP speedfreak117 New CEG\'er S Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 24 northlake il	My pump isn't like that one. The connections are on the side not top. there are only two connections. The left is the plug, got that one and to the righ of it is the fuel hookup.
