Laura,
To what do you attribute your SVt's longevity? (Besides the fact that you drive it like a lady)

First off, I don't drive it like a lady.

As for its longevity. I do regular maintenance, I fix it when its broke and I don't mess with something that is working.

I don't know what else to say. I drive the car like it was designed for. I have spent a fair bit of money fixing it but it has been mainly on things that have worn out. I will say though, I am still on my first clutch still, 2nd Waterpump, although the metal one I put in to replace the original leaked, 2 sets of front wheel bearings, 2 sets of front end links, one set of brake rotors, and 2 sets of pads, lots and lots of oil, and an oxygen sensor. I think that that is pretty much what I have fixed on the car off the top of my head.

Any car can last you a long time if you look after it. I have a friend who drove her Nissan Stanza to over 600,000 and then the tranny went on her.

I was at that stage...then I found out it was my front spring isolators ($300 later worth of labour tho )

But in any case, I'm past 132,000 km now on the Focus.
