That is not a CEL code that a '95 would give, best to check again.

if your car was built in 8-19-95 it was probably the 1996 models that came out onto the dealer lots in Sept. 1995 which would make it a 96. also from 1996 on the trouble codes were reported via the OBD II system which is three number codes.. the 1995 and older years had the two number trouble codes like 11, not P402.. so i looked up in my ford Service CD for 1996 and found out that P402 is the following:
P0420³
Catalyst system efficiency below threshold Bank 1)

i dont know what this means.. if you take your car to auto zone they will give you a free check of the Check Engine Light and then print out a paper what it cold be that is wrong with your car....

How are you getting these codes?

Perhaps you should read this FAQ - CEL codes and post again, because P43 is not a legit code either.

i was using a home scanner, guess it wasnt the right one. anyway, i live right up the street from an AZ so i took it there and they got a P179 and a P183. so those are the #'s that AutoZone pulled. if they dont exist, then ill take it to a dealer.

Don't think you're driving a 95, that sure looks like a 96 OBD2/EEC5 code(s). Check your serial no. to confirm the proper model yr. or look for the second (pair if it's a V6) O2 sensor(s). EEC4 codes are 2 or 3 digits, no letters.

Sorry but I don't have my book of codes with me at the moment. Isn't there something on the FAQ section?

Try doing the Jumper Trick.

If you have a multimeter, then you can do it no problem.

With OBDI (95's only), you can use the Jumper Trick to pull the codes yourself. Search around and you'll find more information.

If you're still having trouble, you can PM me and I'll see if I can help you. I've pulled my own codes multiple times.
