On the contour if you spin a bearing, is there a way to replace just the bearings and not the whole engine... My dad feels it can be done, but I wasnt sure due to the fact that when I see someone saying about there car and a spun bearing, they seem to replace the engine??

Not that I've heard..I spun a bearing and it ate up the con rod and the crank. New short block (3.0 will work fine ) seems to be the easy way to go.

wish it were the case (3L) but I still owe a lil over 2G and now I have college in the fall, so bills are tight. DAMN!T this means I may have to get a real beater to drive for a good while, hell my first car was a 95LX and now my 95SE, I havent drove a beater at all in my life...
