can someone tell me if the fuel cut off switch is tripped if the button on it is down or if its up, and if setting it to up position resets it. 95 contour se atx 2.5l

If it's in the driver's footwell like it is on my car, then up is tripped, push it back down to reset.

I am pretty sure they arent able to be reset you would have to buy a new one i did.

They are supposed to be resettable.

If the switch no longer will reset, it has failed and requires replacement.

if you want to test the swith to see if it is the problem just take the two wires and put them together and then start up the car.. the fuel pump should now be working with the two wires together.. the only thing the switch does is break this closed circuit when involved in a wreck to stop the fuel pump from working so gas does not flow all over the place....
