mad I hate living in an apartment because of the sprinklers. Even Zaino doesn't keep the waterspots away. They aren't too bad, but please let me know. Thanks.

clay bar gets rid of waterspots. You shouldn't use that often though, so a light polish like a Meguiars Glaze or 3M rubbing compound will work for more frequent applications.

Isn't it the wax layer that actually gets waterspots, and not the paint???

What about waterspots on the windows / windshield. I have some that just wont come off with soap / water or glass cleaner.

maybe. either way they won't come out without some sort of abrasive or chemical stripper. The products I suggested are mild to use every time you wash your car.

For the the windshield, those same products also work. There are now glass polishers available if you feel like adding another bottle to the collection. I've switched to plain windex and newspaper though. The newspaper is abrasive enough to scrub off the deposits, but won't harm the glass. I wouldn't try it on paint though.

I got a magazine with car cleaning tips in it laugh (Gotta love CAR cleaning tips laugh ) and for waterspots on your windows (do NOT use if you have tint) For removing hard water stains from windows, try white vinegar water and a green kitchen scrubbing pad. Dry with newspapers.

This may help some too.
Egg on the paint? A heavy terry washcloth soaked in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and warm water should be left on the affected area about 10 minutes, the scrape the egg off with your fingernail or an old credit card.

I used #0000 steel wool very carefully.

EDIT:
Before someone screws up their car because I said this.......

#0000 is the finest grade of steel wool.
I used very little pressure.
Don't use on paint, plastic, rubber, or the side mirrors.

ALWAYS TRY IN AN INCONSPICUOUS AREA FIRST!
