How about Contwin. Maybe the Dualtec Contour.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

The dynamics of the whole setup would make the car a bear to drive & handle. It'd kick ass in straight line, but would want to swap ends on every corner.
If you're coming into $$ Save or invest a little and if you want toys then put it into something that's still in production. Every year the parts & service for Tours gets a little less and less and less.......
But that's just my $.02 worth.
I would have to agree with this guy.
But in my opinion, do what you want. But you can only do it as long as you document each step on here.
And it could also bring some major attention back to the contour and force Ford to bring it back. Cuz I would like to see what a newer model Contour would look like.

I know it can be done because I've seen (2) dual engine FWD cars in my life, one was a 94 LHS and the other was at the WDC, a dual engine Citation X-11. The LHS was said to do 174 mph and the X-11 had 300 hp , remember were talkin' twin 2.8L's w/ a 4 barrel, but the LHS had 430 hp! The only thing your going to need is an engineer and one hell of a fab shop Keep us posted.

When the Olds Toronado came out (was that like 1966?) some guy was on the NHRA funny car circuit with a nitromethane fueled supercharged engine in front (with teh front wheel drive) and another rear wheel drive supercharged engine in back. It was OK, but his car was NOT as big a draw at the drags back then as the jet powered cars however.
My point? How cool do you wanna be?
Why limit yourself to just two engines in a Contour when you could have the first Black Hawk helicopter engine powered Contour... OOPS! My sarcasm is showing again. My bad.

I've checked my sources, who are alot older than I am and they said that car was a HUGE draw! The car, a modified 442 w/ twin blown 455's using dual FWD trannies thus having 4wd, blew everyone away. It ran into the 9's while blowing the tires off it all the way down the track. Tragically one of the two cars burned up and was lost. Another thing that made the car VERY sucessful was "Miss Hurst" Linda Vaugn, she was Pam Anderson before anyone thought of Pam Anderson

Yeah, the double engine Toronado was a draw, but NOT like "The Green Monster."
And yes, Linda Vaughn did have two monsters herself.

Better idea:
Have the stock engine in the front. Then put something with a lot more power in the back, with 8 cylinders. Since you are already modding the rear, im sure you can fit a bigger engine. Then drive normally with the duratec, but when you want the power, turn the duratec off, and turn the rear engine on, and have a very fast rwd contour.
OR:
Take out the stock motor, put something big in the back, and have the first rwd badass contour. Wheelies at every light!

Everybody always talks about wanting an AWD contour.
Why don't you take that money. Fabricate such a system for our cars. Then sell it on here. And possibly end up making even more money off the deal. Would be quite a good investment actually. And it could benefit the whole site. You would be our new hero.
Just a thought.
