I have a 96 GS 2.0 and the temp has been perfectly fine until now. My temp now is still in "normal" but getting close ro "hot". The major problem is that heat has been coming threw the floor vents on front drivers side. I'm worried about my car being to hot and I don't want to lose performance either. thanx for the help everyone! Also temp has been fluctuating from close to the red and then back down for a couple seconds and then back again.

Are the rad fans working OK? Also, is the temp fluctuation at idle or on the go?

fan is working correctly, temp fluctuates at idle and on the go.

Is your coolant full ?? FILL the reserve tank with coolant "above" the full mark by 1/2 to 3/4 inches . Over filling the reserve tank helps my zetec . Also using 5 quarts of oil in the engine instead of the 4 1/2 qts also makes the engine run a little cooler .

i will try that, i do need to change my oil and maybe i'll try putting a little extra in this time. my coolant if full but i'll try adding a little more just above the full line. thanx
