A buddy and myself are going back and forth if the Mondeo headlights will work with the Contour. I say they won't for some reason, no information to back it up. I just thought I recall hearing this somewhere. With the picture he shows me it looks very similar. Can someone shed some light onto this for me. Thanks.

I don't know why, but everone says they won't fit. Are you referring to the Morrettes or just stock lights?

the mk2 mondeo headlamps fix with 3 bolts on each lamp. one behind the grill, one on the top outer edge, and one on the back of the lamp at the very bottom (onto the inner wing).
i was under the impression the contour lamps fixed to the bumper? so conversion work would be necessary.
unless your getting mondeo morette quad lamps, dont get the normal mondeo lamps cos they look crap compared to the clear contour lamps.
and i've got proper morettes on my mondeo, and they arent a perfect fit!

Theres ONE guy who has the Morrette lights, he lives in Ohio and I can't remember his screen name. He had to have ALOT of body work done to make them fit, but he was already having that done, so it was no biggie for him. Try the CEG famous SEARCH and maybe you can get ahold of him. I will say the look is very cool though

And somebody posted comparison pics a loooong time ago. Really made the differences obvious.
Those might be tough to find.

I believe they can only fit two ways 1 rework the body panels to make them fit. 2 Or do like has been said so many time, replace hood, bumper, fenders and grill. And shipping from uk would be more then the labor and the prep/paint work for a whole car. Maybe double. Gee must have had a long break from the site there Sam didnt ya, forgot some things.

Yeah he is wanting those Morettes. I was telling him that not only will the headllights be expensive to have sent here, but that they are slightly different in appearence. It looks identical to the untrained eye. I found a post of a guy doing the Morette's and he said you would need to modify the hood, fenders, bumper, and grille. So we are looking at well over $2K for this mod. He is still determined to make it fit with no modification.
