my question is about removing the resonator. i did do a search and swam though the loads of info out there, but i still have a few questions .

i have a 98 V6, and a few places metioned that there is a significant rasp for non svt vehicles, i was curious how bad it could be, i want the deeper tone, but i want to stay far far away from sounding like a ricer ,

also, i read about getting a glasspack, what is it, how much would it cost, what does it do?

thanks

It does rasp quite a bit, almost all of us with full exhausts have done it one time or another. Basically it sounds like [censored] for 5 min until the car warms. They were talking about a higher flow resonator which would make things louder, but would cancel out rasp.

The resonator is after the main cat and won't affect the cars emissions. If you remove the resonator it will be just a little louder but will rasp when cold. Most CEGrs end up with a glass pack or a magnaflow resonator in place of the stock res to mellow out the sound. The magnaflows sound awesome IMO and can be had for good price from Stazi.

Doesn't affect emissions at all. When I first replaced my res with a straight pipe I thought it sounded good after the first few minutes of warm up. But after a while the drone started to wear on me and I replaced the straight pipe with a Bullet res. Huge difference! Get a replacement res, its cheap and it sounds great. If you need a recommendation on a local place, pm me.
