I tried the search funciton but couldnt find a good answer, can anybody tell me why my engine will die immediately after i turn it on, the only way i was able to counter this was give it a little throttle as it turned on. Couyld this possibly be a dirty/clogged Throttle body. Thanks for the help...Scott

The most common cause of this is a sticking or binding IAC. I would recomend cleaning the throttle body and the IAC (idle air control valve) before anything else. If the IAC is actually binding it may need to be replaced rather than just getting cleaned.

Had the exact same symptoms last month.
Changed the fuel filter and plug wires. No improvement. confused

So my wife and I took the Cherokee instead of the Mystique on vacation for a week.
Since we've been back the problem has disappeared! eek

I think the car just needed some time to think things over...
wink
