In short i got rear ended by a SUV driver had a permit she was by herself..
car needs a new trunk lid, bumper the palstic piece under the bumper is cracked, 1 rear light the panel under the light s crushed.. also the actual car part of the trunk is pushed in liek 3-4" so it wont close..
Do you think they will total the car. Its a 99 zetec lx w/ 87800 miles on it???
Im not sure if I have say in the matter when it comes to repair ot total loss?
I live in NY. i hope they total it i found a nice 2001 zx3 for a great price!!!!!!

I don't think you get a say, unless it's close. My friend totalled his car and the damages were slightly above the total cost. The insurance asked him if he wanted to pay the difference and then have the car fixed. They said mainy people get accustomed to one car, and don't mind paying a little extra (other than deductible if it's the owner's fault) to keep what they are used to.
Can't say one way or the other if they'll total it. A picture would help. Any damage to the unibody, or to the whole rear end of the car?

Ill get pics today, its her fault so im not paying a deduct. Im pretty sure also my rear struts blew out from it and the alignment is of....
I just want the total since i can get a nice zx3 w/ 16000 miles on it. And since driving my moms focus for the last 6 days. I defintly feel that there is no comparison between her 200 foci and my 99 tour. The foci drves, handles better is quiter, shifts smoother, it just feels alot more refined.

As for the Focus, it is definately a nice car. If you can afford it, though, find an SVT Focus. Hell, even if you can't afford it, take one for a ride. You will be amazed at how they handle.

They didnt total I found out tommorow how much im gonna get. Im gonna pocket the money and get the focus. Ya rite i drove a focus all week so much better, im gonan get a zx3 or a zts since its got leather and a sunroof both 5 speeds
