so my 99 mystique was running fine, no problems prior to my week long cruise (great time btw)...but I get back and I am now noticing my temperature control knob is not working correctly. It works on low and the highest settings but nothing in between. I don't even know if low is working properly, but I can feel alittle coming out when on low. Has anyone ever experienced this problem and can anyone suggests some things I might do in order to correct this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Blower resistors or your control knob. IIRC there is a recall for the switch and the resistors. Search the site for "resistors" or "blower"

Well, I had this problem a couple of years ago, before the recall for the heater blower resistor. The connector to the resistor is a bit cheap, and it melted down, taking with it 4 or 5 inches of the connected wire harness. The dealer was no help, so I patched into the wire harness and built another connector. It's worked fine since. Later, I got the recall notice from Ford, and I still get them from time to time. And yes, it still burns me up. The resistor is located near where the front passenger's left foot would be, in the duct for the heat/air. It should be easy to spot due to probable heat damage.
Your mileage may vary. Your car may explode.

I presume it's the blower speed switch, rather than the temp control you are referring to, if so read FAQ
I don't believe the extended warranty applied past '98s, but no harm in having VIN checked at dealer.

The dealer said that it would not be covered under any recalls, so I guess I need to fix it myself.
After reading the common problem thing, I tried but couldn't find this resistor pack. Can someone please explain the location to me maybe a little better so that I can find this thing (a picture would be even better). Also where do I buy this resistor pack, anyone have part numbers and how much?
Thanks in advance, it is getting really cold and I can't stand having the heater blasting at me at all times.

It is super easy to fix, I did it myself in about 5 minutes. It is under the dash, near the passenger seat somewhere. I bought the part from a Ford dealer for 7 bucks.
