I will be installing the vcn2000. I have a labtop with which i can program the vcn2000. I have a 99 MTX v6 cougar with GMK Cold Air Intake, svtuim, svtlim, svt tb, 17# injectors, stock ecu, msds headers & MSDS yipe, and 2.5 Trubendz exhaust, New upper Bosch o2 sensors (2).

I do plan on using variety of gauges to monitor my engine conditions in addition to the vcn lcd display. I plan on: egt, nitrous pressure, volts, a/f, and oil pressure.

I wish to spray a digital progressive 75-100 shot above at least 3600rpm to 6400rpm. (my dyno shows power begins to drop at 6200rpms.) I am curently searching for the best advice on Gapping Plugs, heat ranges, and other nitrous concerns.

Is retarding timing needed with this nitrous kit? I have been told a flip chip might be a good idea. However with the vcn i dont know.

(i know i have few posts but i mostly post on Fastcougar, hehe but we all know CEG is where the performance god are at. I have also spent several hours searching the archives and recent threads.)

17# injectors will not be enough, since the VCN-2000 uses them to add fuel.

i recommend upgrading them to 24# injectors, and get a streetflight chip calibrated for them, with a second program to retard the timing

You don't need a flip chip or timimg retard. In fact, unless you spend the cash to have them properly dyno tuned for on and off bottle, I wouldn't chip it.
I would up the injectors to 19# minimum, but if your going to up them, just go for the 24#ers. You will then insure you don't bump into max duty cycle. Ideally you want to peak at about 80% duty cycle. 19# should put you on the money, but with no room for future increses and a potential limit to the HP gain from the VCN. Not that I would advocate exceedeing a 100 HP gain in linear mode .

For plugs I had great luck with NGK TR55

There is a ton of info in the archives. For some install help, you can see pics at: http://community.webshots.com/user/redlinemotorsport

Thanks for the infomation. That pictorial is Great!

I did not think my stock injectors would be sufficent.

Regarding injector increase. I attempted to install 19# injectors at one point using a tuned Proflow for my mods. Unforunatly my car would not idle and ran like crap.

I had been told that using 19# injectors and the SVT ecu would be the easiest way. However though I have the svt bolt ons, i do not have the cams. I also am aware this would require rekeying and would advance the timing, which is bad for n2o. So perhaps getting another proflow tuned for 19# is my best option, maybe i will have better succes this time? I do not plan on exceeding 100shot of nitrous, and future hybrid is my next step(not til next year though). So if 19# will do then i will go with them.

Does anyone recommend using the apexi SAFC for a/f tuning? I would like to have my car dyno tuned, as i know tuning is where alot of my power could be gained. If my car is indeed dyno tuned on/off the bottle, how do i get the specs to keyser for a custom flip chip? if needed.

Edit: I also forgot to mention I have Return fuel system. I also was given a Walboro fuel pump. I however dont know which flow rate it is as of yet. how do i check?
