what times can i expect from my car. I have a KKM installed but that shouldnt make much of a difference. I looked at other slips by svt's and looked like they ranged from 9.9-10.5 seconds. any tips for 1/8 mile drag racing the svt?

You HAVE to nail the launch.

Our car really makes it's time from 1/3rd track on. (on a 1/4 mile track)

On an 1/8 mile track you are going to have to try and blister a launch and not grenade your diff.

"All comparatively speaking of course."

It should not be run any differently then any other "race"
Try your damndest to win...

High 9's to low 10's sound right.

100% dependant on your 60' time. 2.2x is your goal. Well that and "driving" the car home.

does it really pose that much of a threat on the differntial. i mean i've nailed the car at 25 grand plenty of times. the clutch already isnt the best in the world 91,000 miles. i figure this trip to the strip will get me more towards my goal of replacing the clutch, flywheel, and differential. i would just like to drive it home. haha. im in a bet against a 95 acura integra gsr, a 91 maxima w/ minor mods, and several other slower cars.

Demon hit it right on the head. Excellent advice.

And yes, racing at the drap strip is significantly dangerous to your diff. DO NOT BURN OUT!!! The track is stickier than the street, and when the tires give later, the diff can (I've seen it in person on a brand new Cougar) go kablewy on you. Just don't get too nuts and you should (hopefully) be fine.

I went to the track and saw this guy with a stock '99 CSVT doing the most massive burnouts there that night, besides the drag cars of course. He ran 10.1 all 5 times with a good launch every single time. I would expect around the same for you.

yes, be very carefull with your tranny! Here's my ol' SVT almost 1 year ago to the day after a rough launch. The tranny bled all over the damn place and it cost me $175 just to get towed back to Atlanta. Not to mention the $2700 I paid Ford to install a new MTX-75 (I wanted the warranty, this was never going to happen to me again!)........

Just ran my 2000 CSVT last weekend and in 12 runs I ran:
4-10.1's
10.135 RA 0.513
10.135 RA 0.890
10.137 RA 0.564
10.188 RA 0.597
3-10.0's
10.022 RA 0.710
10.051 RA 0.613
10.068 RA 0.584
2-9's
9.843 RA 0.488
9.957 RA 0.641

Launched at 2,500-3,500 with lots of wheel spin on every run some had wheel hop and some did not. My tires are not that sticky and I did not lower the pressure (about 35 psi.). 10.1's souldn't be a problem.

Here are my 1/8 mile times:
10.197 @ 71.62 MPH
9.800 @ 72.67 MPH
9.892 @ 72.82 MPH
9.971 @ 72.55 MPH

I would advise you to be very careful with your launches and shifts. On my fifth run, my transmission was broke when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear.
