I just bought a set of the Autolite wires after reading about all the unhappy people with the Ford Racing wires. I was about to order the FMS from Bill, and then I searched the forums and read about the problems with these wires.

When you buy a set of the Autolite wires along with the APP764 plugs, you get a $2.00 per plug mail in rebate. I have not installed them yet, but they look to be high quality, OEM style wires. The boots look the same as OEM, and the wires are dark grey/black. I will be installing them this weekend, so I will post my impressions. Does anyone else have this combo installed on their car?

BTW, the wire set was $50.94 and the plugs were $3.97/pc. through Advance Auto.

I have the FMS wires and so far they have been no trouble. They have been on the car about 20,000 miles. I installed them before there started to be concerns posted about them.

Same here (36k on mine). But with all the concerns about the FMS wires now, I was thinking about the Autolites. My wires are getting pretty beat from all the on/off they took a while back.

Are they 8mm or 9mm wires? Are they numbered?

PA 3L SVT: I am not sure, I will check on both of those questions for you tonight.

I really did want to buy the Ford Racing wires because I thought the red color with the "Ford Racing" logo would look nice. But with the problems posted, and the nice rebate on the Autolites, I figured I would give them a try.

I have Autolite plugs & the pro series wires & I paid a more for them, about $70 ...no rebate either (*&%^%)!!

They have been FLAWLESS at this point, but I have only 10,000 miles or so on them. I was quite happy with the quality & fit. They are ever so slightly larger than the stockers, but I was able to stuff them into the plastic clip thingies without a hastle. They "snap" right onto the plugs, so you know when you get a good contact.

They are NOT numbered. You will have to check lengths & replace them one at a time to be sure of the routing.

I hope yours work well for you too.

I bought 2 sets of ford racing wires and they are fine!
I was buying autolite wires before the ford wires and they
are very good too.I did get a rebate for my plugs too.
I went with the ford wires because of the color choices.

I too have about 15k on my FMS wires and have no complaints.

I installed the wires this weekend. They were almost the exact length of the OEM ones and they fit in the wire holders perfectly. They are not numbered, but that was not a problem for me, because I installed new plugs at the same time. I reset the computer just for the heck of it, so now my car is in the 'relearning' stage. They seem to be working fine so far.
