I'm new here but i searched the forums and found nothing. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on what the best aftermarket flywheel for the money would be? I have a '98 SVT and I know it already has a lighter flywheel but a light flywheel means less power lost between the engine and the wheels. Also if someone has an estimate of how much it would cost to have it installed that would be appreciated also. Thanks.

Fidenza which is about $360. You might as well do a new clutch if you're pulling the tranny. Estimate over $1000 in labor alone + parts. Yeowtch!

Is that 1000 labor for the clutch and flywheel? and if for some reason I won the lottery and did that what clutch would you suggest? I assume that doing myself is quite absurd? I have changed a flywheel before but it was a 4wd Bronco 2.

LOL. You have to pull the engine to pull the tranny. No Bronco. I think the Ford unit is great myself. The Spec Stage 1 seems to be a good unit as well.

To replace the flywheel, you need to drop the front subframe and tranny so that's why replacing the clutch was recommended as well.
It is a major project.

I just broke the stock clutch (the spline spins freely inside the disk now) So i would argue that the stock clutch is GREAT I have a spec stage 1 that looks MUCH more beefy. And keep in mind the clutch broke and the "weak" stock diff. is fine. even though a torsen is going in anyways. Anyways to try and get back on topic. If you have a buddy or two that are willing to help. A one car garage(or room to work), misc. metric tools, and air tools are HIGHLY recomended if not required. You could do it in a weekend or more. I say this because you claim you have pulled a tranny before. If you do decide to do it feel free to pm me. I have pulled and helped pull two trannys in a month. Mine and my friends

I have the Fidenza flywheel and the Spec Stage II clutch and love them! The Rousch prepped tranny is sweet too.. 90 in third gear.
