i wasnt even speaking of their installations. i've never had one. i've never been to a best buy, i've looked around their web site at what they have. here is what i'm saying, places like best buy and circuit city have a very limited selection. the only thing from there i would own would be alpine HU's, mtx amps, and maybe type r subs or kappa perfects. and the prices are rediculous. My friend went to circuit city and bought the older alpine cda-9805 with 2 2-volt preouts and 1 4-volt. i just ordered the newer one with all 3 4-volt preouts. he paid $218 after tax from circuit city. Mine cost me $155 shipped from the net. thats a $63 difference. and circuit city charges $60 just to install an amp and a sub!!!!!!!! Screw that

If you need to know how to do it correctly Myself, Dnewma04, Honkeytonk and Chatanewga(sp) can tell you..
Get the Ford removal tools 4 dollars from Autozone or a car parts store.
GO to best buy or wherever walmart whatever. Most places carry the same harnesses.. Either Metra or Schochse (sp).
If you have Premuim sound there is not a true amp bypass you have to extend the speaker wires off the deck to reach to the amp. Other wise get the ford harness and crimp wires together. Put Cage in and lock it connect Harness's and anteana to deck and slide in. Check that it works before you put all the way in.. Done

In the defense of best buy, I had them install a JVC player about 5 years ago and they did a bang up job. Everything was clean neat and efficient. For the person who just wants something in there car to just bump, or play music, Best buy ain't bad at all. THough now i'd rather do it myself any day and the beauty of ebay and online retailers has made it so much nicer.

Noooo....
Trust me, it is SIMPLE! Don't waste your money having the dealership do it.
One of the reasons I suggested Crutchfield for the wiring harness is because they will send you detailed car specific instructions with your order.

Finally someone listens, I know not to go to a dealship, that was just to catch someone's eye so we could get this back on topic. Does anybody have an AIM name or someone I can PM to get the information I am looking for?

Look at the very first reply to your question. If that doesn't take care of it, I'd highly suggest taking it to a shop and not attempting it yourself.
There simply is NO easier vehicle to install an aftermarket radio into than an AM/FM/Cass Contique.
